How long does the Oral-B ProfessionalCare SmartSeries 5000 electric toothbrush with SmartGuide hold a charge? How about the SmartGuide display unit?
A fully charged Oral-B ProfessionalCare SmartSeries 5000 electric toothbrush with SmartGuide lasts for about two weeks with regular use. To maintain the maximum capacity of the rechargeable battery, use your handle until the battery is fully discharged—without recharging between uses—at least once every six months.
The SmartGuide display uses two AA batteries. The battery life varies depending on the brand of batteries used. However, with Oral-B recommended Duracell batteries, the SmartGuide will last about one year.
Will the wireless display interfere with my other wireless devices?
When using more than one Oral-B ProfessionalCare SmartSeries 5000 electric toothbrush with SmartGuide in the same household, you can assign the handles to their display units and synchronize them. Up to two handles can be synchronized to one display unit. Instructions are included in the product packaging.
In areas where radio controlled appliances are not allowed (e.g., hospitals, aircraft, etc.) the electric toothbrush’s radio transmission must be disabled in order to avoid interference. An icon on the display unit indicates whether or not the transmission is enabled.

Why does the CrossAction® toothbrush feel different in my mouth?
If the CrossAction® feels different from your old toothbrush, great! That means the brush is truly working and you’re using it correctly. CrossAction® is uniquely engineered so the Power Tip® bristles reach behind back teeth. The raised green CrissCross® bristles work in opposing directions to clean deeper throughout the brush stroke while the angled bristles penetrate between teeth with each forward and backward stroke. The unique bristle innovation has been clinically proven to remove more plaque than today's best-selling toothbrush.
How long will this toothbrush head last?
As with all of our brush heads, the American Dental Association recommends that consumers replace toothbrushes and toothbrush heads approximately every three months, or sooner if necessary. When bristles become frayed and worn with use, cleaning effectiveness decreases. This recommendation of the American Dental Association is based on the expected wear of the toothbrush and its subsequent loss of mechanical effectiveness, not on its bacterial contamination.
